The Boeing 747-8F aircraft of Azerbaijani cargo airlines Silkway West Airlines became the first F-category large cargo airliner that landed at the recently opened New Istanbul Airport.
The aircraft of the scheduled Baku-Istanbul-Baku flight had been handled on ground by Celebi - the long standing handling partner of Silkway in Turkey. Celebi has been providing aviation services for Silkway at the highest level for many years.
Since its foundation in 2012, Silkway West Airlines has been constantly expanding its route network which meanwhile does reach to more than 40 destinations connected with its own global Hub in Baku.

The new Istanbul airport is located Arnavutkoy district on The European part of Istanbul, 35 Kilometers from the city center. As of April the 7th all passenger flights were transferred from the meanwhile closed Ataturk Airport to new airport.
